Local Restaurant Lands on America’s Best New Restaurants List

Bon Appétit revealed the 50 finalists for its “Best New Restaurants in America” list, and a local tapas restaurant made the cut. The pack will be whittled to the “Hot 10” winners Aug. 15.

Bon Appétit described Kansas City’s The Antler Room as Mediterranean meets Midwest. Husband-and-wife team Nicholas and Leslie Goellner run the tapas restaurant, which opened in 2016. Its shareables range from beef tongue with Enoki mushroom, XO sauce, celery and buckwheat to octopus with curry spice, bitter greens, almonds and other toppings. Bon Appétit recommends the bigoli with braised rabbit or the made-in-house pastas.
